The astonishing magician - The introduction of the team

This week, I want to talk about the director, writer and musician in Nolan's movie.

As every masterpiece in the world of movie, it must have a great team behind it. Just like Hayao miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi(宮崎駿和久石讓).


Let's start from the musician : Hans Zimmer

Born and raised in German, Hans Zimmer practiced piano and violin when he was a young kid. In his childhood, these practices made him decided to be a composer, not a pianist or violinist.




After graduated from the music academy in the late 1970s , Zimmer started to compose some commercial musics. Then, he got acquainted to Stanley Myers, a famous English composer. He learned orchestration from Myers and started to get some contracts from some company. 

After many years, he started his great journey in Hollywood , and became well-known in English world.

His music are featured high tension and brisk rhythm, these things made a film become striving and affecting.

Then, let's dig in the writer: Jonathan Nolan

Johnathan was a novelist. By sharing the story-Memento Mori to his elder brother: Christopher Nolan, and won a great success of Memento(2000). Until now, they are still great partner,here is a quote: 

"I’ve always suspected that it has something to do with the fact that he's left-handed and I’m right-handed, because he's somehow able to look at my ideas and flip them around in a way that's just a little bit more twisted and interesting. It's great to be able to work with him like that."

Johnathan started to plot lots of films and TV series. When it comes to movies, Johnathan said that he had a great corporation with his brother. They could always knew each other even they have to share something difficult and abstract. As to TV series, you may able expect what will happen, but they would pop out to make you surprised.

Jonathan's story often concentrated on human's scars or flaws, and turns them into a whole new vision of world.

When Jonathan transferred from a novelist to a film writer, he also made some TV series stores, here are some stories he credit:

Finally, that's come to our director : Christopher Nolan

As a great director, Christopher really do a great  job to transform Jonathan story into visual impact, and to reinforce them by Zimmer's music. With his perfectionism on the movie, every single scene in his movie was placed by elaborate design.

Maybe some of you will notice that Nolan's movie was always in the muted color(暗色).  Not just because of his style of production, but also his imperfect of one faculty--vision.

It was so unimaginable that this great director was a red-green color blindness(紅綠色盲)

 Even he faced such a difficulty, Nolan still start to film by his dad's super 8 camera when he was 7 years old!

Such a inspired story right?

Nowadays, many 3D movie(even 4DX) was filled in the theater. Nonetheless, Nolan still insist to produce 2D movies by luxurious camera: IMAX . He believed that IMAX could make the film much more elaborate in the details and give everyone a whole new feeling of large scale scenes such as flying in the sky or facing the deep valley.

Meanwhile, Nolan believed that the audience could find out what is CGI (電腦特效), therefore he will do he best to make every picture "real". It is really amazing to watch his movie.Believe me , it is "realer" than 3D movies
